Plymouth is home to over a quarter of a million people and is situated on the coast of Devon in the south west of England between the mouths of the River Plym and the River Tamar. A settlement in Plymouth dates back to the Bronze Age, which grew significantly as a trading post throughout the Roman Empire. The 9th largest University in the UK is located in Plymouth and HMNB Davenport, the largest operational naval base in Western Europe, can be found in the city.
